Hit the road cats!

In Bucharest we lived for a couple of weeks near Titan park, a great place that supplied us with potable water, plenty of light for our solar panels and a pleasant place to walk the cats. We took advantage that we were near a shopping mall, so we kinda abused a bit of their free WiFi... when you live in a motorhome you have to take advantage of everything that comes nearby, when someone offers you a hot shower, GO FOR IT!

We had to stay in Bucharest until the end of September to join my brother's wedding, finalize the car's registration and the remaining preparations for our adventure.

Map to Brașov

After we made the home baptize with our Romanian friends at a barbecue, we decided that it is time to hit the road, also because the last days began to be too cold and rainy for us. Before leaving, we made sure that the water tank and the diesel reservoir were full and our souls ready. We left the city on a heavy rain and anxious to migrate to a warmer south. To warm up, Toto and Neko spent a good time in our lap...feels good to have cats! :)

Neko and Toto enjoying the trip

Since Romania has a few motorways, we decided to follow them until Hungary. There is no toll to pay, only the vignette that, compared to other European countries motorway tolls, costs almost nothing.

Beautiful Romania

Our first stop was in Brașov, a lovely medieval city situated in the center of Romania that hosts an impressive catholic cathedral named the Black church, a fortress on the hill that surrounds the city and a ski slope adored by skiers in winter. However,we came in this city especially to return at the traditional restaurant Sergiana that we discovered three years ago when we made a trip in the Romanian Carpathians. The second day we slowly headed to the frontier with Hungary, while the night we spent it in a gas station on the motorway. To be noted... we'll never again park between two trucks! they usually leave their engine on for the air conditioner and make a terrible noise.

Brașov in the mist

Toto and Neko seem to get more and more used with their new life style, however they suffered a bit, because apart for the last stressful days, we made their walks shorter and less funny...yet, they must get used with new and different situations and experiences.
